Shafi Group established the “Muhammad Shafi Trust” in April of 1991, and Muhammad Shafi Trust has constructed and also operates under its supervision the Muhammad Shafi Educational Complex in Karachi offering primary, secondary and technical education.
The Zakia Begum Iqra Primary School is a purpose-built campus totally financed and freely run by the Shafi Group at Gulberg Town, Factory Area, Sheikhupura (Punjab). All books, Tuition Fees, and other administrative expenses are borne by the Directors of Shafi Group.
The Muhammad Shafi Trust announces scholarships to talented and deserving students of different colleges and universities in Punjab and Sindh. Moreover, it also provides financial assistance to a number of government schools working in remote areas in the district of Lasbella.
The Shafi Group has partnered with the Green Crescent Trust to provide access to water and improved sanitation to people living in the water-scarce Tharparkar region. With this project, each village we engage in gets their own well, providing clean drinking water.
Keeping with its tradition of excellence, efficiency, and compassion for all, the Shafi Group partnered with the Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust (LrBt) to launch the Saeeda Naseem Shafi “LRBT” Eye Hospital in Chiniot, Punjab, providing free eye care.

Farmlands cover more than one-third of the earth’s land surface and are the most vital ecosystems to sustain human kind. While supplying us with food, fodder and fiber; these arable fields and pastures are also home to various flora and fauna. Yet the way we are using these lands is exhausting their vitality. Intensive ploughing and cultivation practices, excessive use of chemical fertilizers, rigorous utilization of pesticides, insecticides and herbicides, disproportionate use and eutrophication of water bodies have all resulted in increased soil erosion, reduced agricultural productivity, degradation of the ecosystem and amplification of hydrogeological risk.
